PurpleNewFabulous Fridays at 5'o'clock'ish!

Welcome back everyone & welcome to all my new readers & subscribers too!

This week is a little different. I want to share with you information about an exciting new range of storage products coming to Stampin' Up! from 1st of April 2019.            That's right on Monday!!!

Not long now. It will be available through  my online store to all!

04.01.19_HEADER_STORAGE_BY_STAMPIN_UP_UKSP

I can't wait to order it because, as many know, I have limited space in my little house. I see these modular units as a great space saving  product AND one that will be much more compatible on my desk than my current storage systems.  Stampin' Up! have worked very hard to bring you these products and I am sure there will be add ons to the range as time progresses.  So if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me at wirgie101@gmail.com or leave me a message in the comments below.

Take a look at this little graphic and then have a look at the information below about these modular units. They are designed to stand on your desk top and be stacked on top of one another.  Yes you can stack them up but bare in mind the more you stack, they may become less stable.  I feel an ideal stack is 3 to 4 high and maybe with one tray on top with reinkers in them.

These next links will take you to PDF flyers that you can open in Adobe Reader or download to print out. There are two flyers, the first one is to show you the different configurations and the 2nd is to show you pricings.

PurpleNewFabulous Fridays at 5'o'clock'ish!

Yay, welcome back, thank you for visiting!

This week I am showing you another technique that I've done using the gorgeous Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (free with any order over $90 but only til 31st March!)

I am so so loving this folder and today's creation.  What have I done?  I've used some gorgeous metallic leafing flakes and the multipurpose adhesive sheets to create a beautiful background with the Country Floral folder.  It can be a tad messy but it's so worth trying.

tubofflakes1

Cut your plain whisper white card stock to a card front layer.  Actually it can be any colour because you are not going to see it at the end.  Place it on a multipurpose adhesive sheet and trim down.

NOTE: Make sure you have a good, clear spot to do this. Ensure you do not have a window or door open or a fan on because leafing flakes are very light and can blow everywhere.  Have a clean sheet of paper that has been creased down the middle so you can pour the flakes back into their container afterwards.

Peel off the adhesive sheet and lay the card flat on the scrap sheet.  Start sprinkling the leafing flakes onto the adhesive, cover the whole thing very well, pressing them on.  Next, take a clean dry paint brush, not too soft, to brush off the excess flakes that can go back into their container.

Take your embossing folder and put the leafing covered piece into it. You need to decide if you want your finished card with the flowers raise or recessed, then run it through your Bigshot machine to emboss it.  See how gorgeous it comes out?  I love this folder and it's one I'll use for many many years.

This is my completed card.  I've placed my foil leafed, embossed layer onto a Basic Black card base. I've used a small strip of scrap card left over from another background I made that has copper metallic paint splats on it.  Punched out the Story Label punch to put my sentiment on and added some black gems to bling it up even more.   I've also decorated my insert paper with a strip of the leafed card too. A very striking card!

I hope you like this creation and information on how I created.  FYI, I bought my leafing sheets from our local Bunnings Hardware store (Australia) and then tore up about 3 sheets each of copper, gold & silver into a clean take away container.  They were not very expensive to purchase and will last a very long time for this kind of project.  You may have seen me use these flakes on some wooden letters I decorated for Christmas gifts last year too.  Fabulous product to keep in your stash and having the Stampin Up Multipurpose adhesive sheets on hand is another stable with in my supplies!

So, til next time, remember,

happy stamping, colouring & creating!

Thoughts on Thursday, 21st March 2019

ThursdaysThoughtsMar2019a

Hi everyone, yes it's Thursday and yes I've missed last Friday's FF@F and Tuesday's Tutu Tuesday.  It's been an interesting week since we got the notification we'd won our court case to keep our Jacaranda tree.

Some thoughts hubby and I have had since are why did it have to get so far as to end up in the Land & Enviornment court? Why couldn't the very stubborn and angry owner of the two rentals next door not see what damage he was doing to us mentally?  That he was paying out huge amounts to a legal firm who should have advised him to take our final offer (which, by the way, was very very generous).

On Hubby's final offer he quoted this passage from the bible at the beginning of his correspondence. We are now wondering if that made him even more angry. Stupid man!

"Love for Enemies"  Luke 6:27-30 (NIV version

"But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you,  If someone slaps you on the one cheek, turn to them the other also. If someone takes your coat, do not with hold your shirt from them.  Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back"

No, instead, he let his anger rule him and he got his day in court and before the judge, twice, to be told no and to be told he had 2 deadlines to meet due the rulings handed down.  Has he met the first one yet? No!  Have we advised him we are still waiting and he has less than 5 days before he looses even that opportunity to have some work done on his concrete driveway?  Yes!  We have reminded him that he signed a legal document more than a year ago, in the presence of the mediators, that he agreed to the cost and the type of new fence we organised to be built.  He's now disputing that too.

We've sent him a letter with a copy of his signed agreement, a copy of the quote and said if he's not willing to honor his part that he agreed to, then we are going ahead with our new fence. We will pay for it in full our selves and we no longer want any contact with him going forward.  That fence has been paid for in full by us for a year just waiting to be built, all we were going to do was invoice him for his half.

Bare in mind, 18yrs ago he willfully damaged said fence so we've also quote to him from the Dividing Fences Act 1991-Sect 8 '

"An adjoining owner is liable for  up to the whole cost of the fencing work required to restore a dividing fence that has been damaged or destroyed by a negligent or  deliberate act of the owner or of a person who has entered the land concerned with the express or implied consent of the owner."

Keeping this in mind, he is actually liable to pay for the whole new fence himself which hubby recons he's not looked in to and realised!  We have documentation with our solicitor back then on when he pulled the fence down and moved it himself just after we bought and moved in.  When he put it back up it became so wonky and has fallen apart since.  We didn't fight him then but it's only one of a long list of things he's done since we moved here.  Asking us to remove our Jacaranda, which was here when we moved in, was the final straw that broke us down, hence we said ok, go ahead, we will see you in court!  He lost and he's still arguing?  Aggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whilst all this was happening, my hubby has had to bite his tongue, be very diplomatic and calm with all his correspondence and verbal dealings.  Not any more.  He lost it on Monday when he received yet another email saying "no no no no no not going to agree to the fence, I should be allowed to put in two quotes as well"  Hells Bells!!!!!!   He's already agreed to a quote, the style of the new fence and now he says no?   So not taking it anymore said hubby and he went to town.  Hubby has told him, in not so kind words, that he will no longer take any notice of him and he's washed his hands of the relationship, what little there was left.   Our new fence WILL BE BUILT starting 4th April barring any unforseen events such as the weather!  Both the tenants living there are quite happy that a new fence is going in and have no problems with when it happens.

To say it's still causing a bit of stress is an understatement but we know we've done nothing wrong, we have the law on our side and we are pushing ahead.  Our property will look so much better once the fence is in. PLUS next door will no longer be able to look in on us and into our back windows. We will have more privacy than we've ever had and the colourbond fence will also cut down the noise of the vehicles going up and down their driveway which is right next to both our bedrooms!

So yeah, that's what the last week has been like here at the the Hampson's Hovel as we affectionately call our little house.  Now I'm turning back to my craft desk to finish what I hope will be a very welcomed creation for all my crafty readers!

Til next time, remember,

Live, love and laugh often!

Fabulous Fridays @ 5oclock but late ;-) 16 March 2019

PurpleNewFabulous Fridays at 5'o'clock'ish!

Well, as has been said many times before,

better late than never!

Welcome lovely people.  I've been a busy little chicky whipping up a card making frenzy at my desks today.  I've seen this done via Pinterest and thought, I can do that, let's have a play. So I have and completed 7 cards in all.  This is really easy to do but can be a tad messy so have some warm soapy water and an old towel ready to wash that gorgeous Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder between each colour!

Choose which embossing folder you want to use as a background  as well as card stock and it's matching ink pad.   I have used a few colours as you will see by the photos of my cards.  You do the same for each one, washing and drying your embossing folder between each colour.

I have stamped my sentiment in matching colours, punched them out with the lovely Story Label punch.  I've edged each card base, background and sentiment with either matching ink or Basic Gray to make them all pop.  I've used white seam binding that I have hand dyed using reinkers mixed with Isocol rubbing alcohol.   I'm pretty happy with how they've all come out.

inkembossedpieces1aThis embossing folder is to die for, so beautiful and detailed.  Very very deep impressions can be made and like I've done with some Lovely Lipstick foil card, oh yes, so beautiful. That one, I used a fine sanding block to buff away some of the foil colour to show the flowers up, pretty effective hey!   YES, I finally cut into that gorgeous foil!

I finished seven cards in all this afternoon, pretty happy with that!
