Thursday Thoughts, 25Feb2021!

 Hi folks,

edited: sorry, I'm a day out of whack, thought it was Friday.  Oh derr!

This is a 'Thursday Thoughts post!....

Bit of a different blog post for you today.  Remember a few years back I did a post about colour, Pantone© and how Stampin' Up! is sometimes 2 years ahead in their planning?

Well very soon there will be a new Stampin'Up! annual catalogue coming out.  With that catalogue there is usually 5 new in-colours added to the colour family and the last lot of in-colours, 2019 to 2021, are retired.  This should be the same this year which means the 5 in-colours of Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile, Pretty Peacock, Seaside Spray & Purple Posey will be retired.

I love going to the Pantone© website to see what's new coming and I have done recently a post about this year's in-colours from them being a grey and a bright yellow.  Last week I received an email from Pantone© talking about the London & New York fashion week events and they had some fabulous colour swatches in the newsletter.  I have saved those photos and have written on each swatch the colours that correspond as close as possible to our Stampin'Up! colours. Take a look...

Please not this is not my photo and is copyrighted to Pantone©

How close to these Pantone© colours match with Stampin' Up!.  Love them all!  I'd love to speculate about what our new 2021 to 2023 in colours will be but it's just too hard but I will put it out there that, well given their in-colour announcement, could we be getting a new yellow and new shade of gray??  Time will tell.

I'll leave you with this information for now too.  SAL-A-BRATION is coming to a close on the 28th of the month.  You only have 3 days left to place an order in my store to earn some of the beautiful free products in this years flyer.  For each $90au you can choose one free product.  Should your order be $180au or more there are products for free that can only be earned once you reach that amount.  Don't miss out.  The Darling Donkeys stamp set and the the patterned paper packs have been flying out the doors!! Check out this youtube clip Stampin'Up! have put together to explain what's available.

Below are photos of my cards already put together.  You will have in this kit enough supplies to create 12 beautiful cards with matching envelopes, the stamp set, an acrylic block, 1" ink spot stamp pad in Misty Moonlight. Die cut layers both printed and blank to stamp your sentiments onto. All with copper foil edging, vellum die cuts printed with copper foil as well as copper cord, glue dots and dimensionals.

Here is the lovely box it comes in which you can customize/decorate or use for storage.

The following photos are of the full colour instruction sheet that is in the kit. Very easy to follow instructions.  There's 4 different designs you will be able to put together along with the stamp set and acrylic block, you will have to continue to create many more items in the future.

I think you will agree, this kit is ever so gorgeous.

Tutu Tuesday Tutorial revisited, 16th Feb, 2021!

 Welcome everyone

I'm taking a walk down memory lane again today. But first lets enjoy a lovely, pretty Tutu!  Like dancing flower petals!

So, I received some gifts over the weekend and have some tissue paper saved from the packaging.  What a good way to use tissue paper -make handmade flowers!!   I made this video back in mid 2018 and it's still relevant today.  Stampin' Up! have more dies these days that you could use too to cut out the petal layers.

Why not try this with Stitched Stars, In the Tropics or even Celebrate Sunflowers!  I'll  share photos at the bottom of this video of several made using a retired petal punch and a 2" circle punch. The bottom photos shows a flower made using a Stitched Star die AND I've repurposed the mango melody coloured tissue paper from a Paper Pumpkin kit as well!

In this video I've used a retired floral punch (which I will never part with). So if you have it too, why not give this a go.  Anyone still got some of the brown packaging paper our Stampin' Up! orders use to come packed in?  I've tons of it and it also makes fabulous handmade flowers!

I've made use of brads, re-inkers, rubbing alcohol, punches, paper piercer, spritzers amongst other things to create my handmade flowers!

Here are some created today using cream coloured tissue paper packaging.  One was made using a 2" circle punch and the other the retired petal flower punch I'd used in the video!

The flower on the right I have spritzed with Mango Melody reinker mixed with rubbing alcohol. Gave it a quick blast with my heat gun to dry it.  The one on the left I used a circle punch. There are 1.5". 2" & 2.5" available in the current annual catalogue. I have used the 2" punch.

This little decorated mint tin I made a few years ago uses brown paper and black tissue paper. I think the punch used was called Pansy Punch for the brown paper one.  I no longer own it but you get the picture on what can be created with floral punches & dies.  The black tissue little one is using a retired scalloped punch.  FYI that little tin is an Eclipse mint tin which I collected a few of. My hubby drilled holes in the lids so I could put ribbon through so they could be hung on Christmas Trees. I made a lot of this back in 2014!

And here is the flower made using one of the dies from the Stitched Stars die set.

Thanks for stopping by, and remember, til next time,

happy stamping, crafting, colouring & creating!

Fabulous Fridays @ 5'o'clock, 5thFeb2021

 G'day everyone

Well what a lovely surprise I got when I received my advanced order of the new Butterfly Bouquet suite this week.  I love the stamps & dies and oh those designer series 6x6" papers, gorgeous.

I've created a lovely card today using all three products. I've also done blending using the new'ish blending brushes as well. My stamped background Calypso Coral was used.  I die cut some of the butterflies from the DSP and layered them over the stamped image. I've also edged those die cut butterflies with a black marker so they are quite bold looking. Such a pretty bundle to have. It will be available from 2nd March, so not long to wait!

so until next time, remember,
happy stamping, colouring & creating!
