PurpleNewFabulous Fridays at 5'o'clock'ish!

G'day everyone, happy Friday to you all.

A quick share today to show you some more of what's coming in next week's new catalogue release.  I absolutely love this stamp set with it's matching dies, The Sailing Home Bundle!  I haven't bought any of the coordinating Designer Series Papers as yet. I thought I'd let the stamps create my background.  What I've used is listed below in my product listing.  I've only used stamps, ink, cardstock, adhesives & my die cutting machine (I've a Bigshot).  There are some amazing male themed products, something I know many have asked for.  I can also see this card made in a more feminine hue as well.

Thursdays Thoughts 30/5/2019

ThursdaysThoughtsMar2019a

Hi everyone,

Yes there sure had been a drought in Wirgie's little world as far as posting here and on other places you may find me.  Today was spent in contemplation and thought as I did some much needed 'colouring in' therapy.  Sometimes I get my best relaxation when I can sit and colour in and create and just not think about anything outside my little beanie headed bubble.  Yes, I'm wearing a beanie today coz it's darn cold and my ears have been 'lowered' so to speak. That is I had another haircut LOL.  This was me this morning....

Don't ya love my beanie? Recognize the little fat cartoon kitty on it?  It's Pusheen, a little sticker cat character many use on Facebook.  My son, DIL & grandson gave it to me last Christmas.  It's been very handy today in this freezing cold little hovel ;-)

What was I thinking about as I was colouring in?  Lots of things but mostly on how thankful I am to be around, how thankful I am to still have one parent around.  My hubby took my Daddy for his oncology check up yesterday.  I not able to drive that long drive at the moment.  So my dear sweet Herbster took a day off work and did it for me.  Daddy got the all clear again and doesn't have to go back until September.  Thank the good Lord for this and all the prayers that have been said for my Dad.

As I sat colouring in I thought about the previous years spent going to Little Scrapbook Shop long weekend retreats and all the friends I've made over many years in this rather small paper crafting community in Australia. I say small because there isn't anywhere I go, including New Zealand back in April, where I don't know someone, meet someone or catch up with someone I've only known online or from these retreats.    Last week some of us lost a friend from our Little Scrapbook Shop days.  It was a really awful shock and something many of us are still trying to make sense of.  I don't think we ever will. But as I sat and coloured in, I thought of her and I wished her well where ever she is now. I prayed she may be meeting my dear Mum and that they get to have lots of laughs paper crafting, sewing, knitting and crocheting together where ever they are.

So here's to lost friends, there's been a few of them in recent years.  And here's to colouring in!  My little bit of calmness in this stormy life we all live in!   I've used products soon to be released 2019-2020 Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue.  I've coloured in on the back side of a printed vellum sheet with Stampin' Write markers and blended the colour using a Blender Pen, very happy with the finished card!

TutuTuesdayNewHeaderDec2018jpg

Welcome to a new Tutu Tuesday!  Long time between Tuesdays.

Look at this lovely little number, isn't it gorgeous, and my favourite kind of shoes too, blue suede!  Well not so much the heals these days but look at that glorious ultramarine deep blue shade!

Please send an email to tell us your waist size, hips size and the size from your waist to floor through the measurement in the left picture. If you do not send these size information to us, we will use our standard size to make the skirt. - Online Store Powered by Storenvy

This last week I've been doing a bit of colouring in.  It's something that is rather theraputic for me. The state of mind I've been in recently needed to 'escape' and loose myself in something that needs me to just 'do it'.  I think I've broken my creative drought, my lost mojo is slowly coming back as is my sense of humour and sense of being 'calm' if there is such a thing these day.  Last week I had a huge wake up call.  Some of you may already know that a friend within my wider circle of crafting gal pals, took her own life.  It has come as a huge shock to all of us. I'm still in disbelief, though her funeral is this Friday, myself and one of my good buddies just can't travel that far to attend.  We are going to do something special together on the weekend to celebrate Marg's life and say our farewells in our own way, just like when our friend Debi passed away 3yrs ago.

makeandtakesApril2019So today, I have chosen a beautiful stamp set that will be available to buy from 4th June 2019. It's called Free As A Bird.  Look at those cute little birds!  They were just chirping at me to colour them in like little Robin Red Breasts.  So I did.  I've used some new Designer Series Paper too in my background from a new range called Bird Ballad, also onsale from 4th June!  Oh my, you are going to love all the different suites and bundles in this new catalogue.  It will be available to download for free in PDF format on 4th June too!

You are also going to love that in this new catalogue there are not one but two packs of Water colour pencils available.  Yes, Stampin'Up! listened and that limited edition of pencils that was out last year has landed as a standard orderable item!

roughcoloured1

This is what my colouring looks like in the rough so to speak. See how it looks rather patchy?   Next I've used one of Stampin'Up!'s blender pens to blend the colours as you will see in this next photo...

partblended1

So many people ask me how I blend and colour. Honestly, I don't know, it is just something I have found that comes naturally to me.  I've spent years colouring in using many different mediums.  You are going to laugh because, when a child, I could never ever stay within the lines. My colouring in back then was atrocious and I was always getting in to trouble at school for it, hard to believe hey?

colouredSpongedEdges1

I used some crumb cake ink to sponge my edges, then layered it onto a pieces of DSP from the Bird Ballad pack. I sponed the edges of that DSP with Calypso Coral ink, added a cute bow using another new product, that beautiful Petal Pink Organdy striped ribbon!

finishedFreeAsABird28May2019a

To finish off my card, I punched out two scalloped cirles, layered then and stamped the Hello greeting onto the top layer.   I hope you like a little insight into the way I colour in using water colour pencils.  Remember, you need a permanent ink like Stazon to water colour/blend with blends. You don't always have to use water colour paper, it's your own preference. However I will say this, if I was using and aqua painter brush with water, I would have stamped on water colour card stock as it is more sturdy and doesn't pil.

Well that's if for today, thanks for stopping by, until next time, remember,

happy stamping, colouring & creating!
