Thursday, 11th November 2021, already!!!

Yes, it's been quite some time since I last posted.  Excuses?  Yes there's a fair few.  I've not been very well at all and so much has been going on here at Hampson's Hovel that it'd make your head spin! (no not covid, lupus and a severe skin infection and bit of mental health management too)  Isn't it wonderful how good you can feel with a good haircut and decent glasses too! Not to mention shedding kilos, at least 8 so far, possibly 10, I'll weigh my self next Monday.

We've had covid lockdowns, covid restrictions, building work started then stopped, front & backyards dug up during and then left due to the lockdowns. But finally we are starting to see our little property come back to 'average' coz there ain't no such thing as 'normal' these days around here.  I could share tons of photos. Maybe at the end of this. We had to document a lot of what was happening because quite a lot of our front & back yards were destroyed by the workmen and items from hubby's garden shed vanishing, like shovels, garden hose fittings and such. Not to mention them using his brand new wheel barrow and putting a ruddy great hole in it.  This has not made Herbie (nor Wirgie) happy campers.  We've got our front garden back and now have to be patient for the new trees to grow into hedges and sound barriers.  We've gotten so use to the traffic noise, to a point. But I now sleep with earbuds in coz it is never ending 24/7!!!

Soooooooo in the Stamping' Up! Crafting world, there have been so many new products with more on their way.  I did lose my creative mojo for a while there but it's back with a vengence and this last week or so has seen me make more cards than all of up to September this year included. Got to be happy with that!   Tonight kicks off our next Onstage@Home event.  My swag box arrived a few weeks ago and oh my goodness, this carry tote is one of the best ones I've ever received.  Want to see some of them? Fabulous Fridays @ 5'o'clock, 5thFeb2021

 G'day everyone

Well what a lovely surprise I got when I received my advanced order of the new Butterfly Bouquet suite this week.  I love the stamps & dies and oh those designer series 6x6" papers, gorgeous.

I've created a lovely card today using all three products. I've also done blending using the new'ish blending brushes as well. My stamped background Calypso Coral was used.  I die cut some of the butterflies from the DSP and layered them over the stamped image. I've also edged those die cut butterflies with a black marker so they are quite bold looking. Such a pretty bundle to have. It will be available from 2nd March, so not long to wait!

so until next time, remember,
happy stamping, colouring & creating!

Fabulous Fridays @ 5'o'clock, 30 August 2019

FFat5OclockishJune2019a

Hello everyone, it's been over a week since my last post and I do apologise. I've been up at my father's again, taking him for appointments and helping sort out his banking.  He didn't have any kind of card to be able to pay bills over the phone. So I got that sorted quick smart. He only had an eftpos card. How he's survived all this time with just one of those and an old fashioned check book is beyond me.  He agreed that sometimes he didn't want to get in his car and drive all the way to a post office just to pay a bill. I'm feel much relief that we got this sorted.

So what's new with Stampin' Up!?  Oh my goodness, wait til you see this year's holiday catalogue. At first I was hard pushed to want much from it but the more I flicked through it, the more I saw.  I have been sharing a few projects in the last month. However, today I'm sharing with you a card I created using Annual catalogue products and I am very happy with it indeedydoo!   Firstly, I did check out the amazing Youtube clip Stampin' Up! created to make those gorgeous layered daisy flowers on page 23 of the annual catalogue. Have you seen it yet?  If not here it is...

The Daisy Lane stamp & punch bundle is a great bundle to have AND it coordinates so well with the original Daisy Delight stamp set and larger daisy punch too!

For my project this week, I made one layered daisy as per the above video clip. I selected nice bright colours, Terracotta Tile & Pineapple Punch. My layered background is from the Perennial Essence Designer Series paper pack which I've run through my die cutting machine with a new folder coming in the Holiday Catalogue, called Hammered Metal.  I so love this embossing folder. I've been watching out for one that embosses like this for years so it was one of the first things I ordered with my pre-order items!  I did stamp my daisy stem and the leaves first though, using Mossy Meadow ink.closeup2My 'Smile' sentiment was stamped in Terracotta Tile then I punched it out using the Everyday Label punch, trimming it down to the size it is. I added a strip of the Woven Threads trim along the bottom.  Notice what I did?  I pulled the thread from the bottom of this trim to make it look like tassels. I didn't throw out that bit of thread either. I used it to make the little bow underneath the sentiment. Waste not, want not!   It's amazing trim, do get some!

TutuTuesdayJune2019Floral1a

Hello my fellow tutu lovers, how gorgeous is this little number!  The colours kind of match the card I created for last Friday's FF@F'o'clock'ish blog post. Black, Coastal Cabana and white! Pretty as!

I've a couple of cards to share with you, no tutorial today, I've over done it with filming and creating lately so trying to stay away from my keyboard for a few days to give my hands a rest.

I've used brand new products and a new to me stamp set, Very Versailles.  I've my upline, Kylie Bertucci, for getting this stamp set into my collection!  I loved it but it wasn't on my current wish list.  I had another look and thought, oh yes, I NEED that set. I had a few flex points accrued so I got this stamp set, 3 of the re-inkers for the new metallic ink pads coming soon and  that gorgeous puff paint that'll be new too!

With this card I've used all three of the metallic colours, Celestial Copper, Silvery Shimmer & Golden Glitz.  Now this is also where I admit, I didn't buy the ink pads but only the re-inkers.  I had in my supplies drawer 3 brand new unopened, uninked full sized foam inkpads. The very same kind of inkpads the Delicata ones are.  So I thought well nothing ventured, nothing gained and I could always buy the inkpads if inking of the blank ones didn't work.  Oh my, it did and I'm soooooo happy with the results.  Don't miss getting these ink pads.  They are nothing like the old Encore Metallics that were around many years ago.  I had those and disliked them with a passion because they never really dried properly unless you put clear embossing powder over them & heat set them.  Biggest waste of my hard earned money.  They also tarnished, into the garbage they went years ago!

Monday musing, 3/June/2019

mondaymusings1ajpg

Goodness me, blink and what the?

It's Monday again.

I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend and a not too busy week ahead.  Today, and over the weekend I've been musing about a few things.  The old Oxford Pocket dictionary I keep by my computer desk says the meaning for 'muse' is to ponder, meditate upon.

I had this brilliant idea the other day for a blog post but didn't know where to slot it in to my regular posts.   Tomorrow the new Annual catalogue goes live and I've already a post scheduled for that. However, this 'musing' that I've done has been prompted by Stampin' Up!'s new catalogue along with a fabulous newsletter I received last week about, yes, you guessed it in colours, designer's colours,  colour trends.  Remember me talking about how Stampin' Up! works anything up to 2 years ahead of time? How Pantone® work with world renowned designers to create their colour palettes?   Oh boy, Stampin' Up! are so on trend, I nearly fell off my perch when I opened that newsletter.  To quote them:

Tea Garden

Laurie Pressman, Vice President

Pantone Color Institute

May 28, 2019

Color and design trends for home furnishings 2020 reveal a fascinating dichotomy as a new era brings in both novel and nostalgic approaches to design. An emphasis on self-care combined with our affinity for nature based hues clearly comes through in Tea Garden, an artfully tranquil story of grounded tones, nature infused health-giving hues and contentment featured in PANTONEVIEW home + interiors 2020. Deliciously subtle, this memorable and sincere palette is both pure and poetic.

So to show you, I've created my own colour palette from a photo that Pantone® used in that newsletter (I do not own copyright for this photo, all copyright goes to Pantone®)

So check this out, and when you are able to open your new catalogues, go straight to pages 24, 25 and 26!!!  Oh my goodness, the richness of these new colours will blow you away!

'til tomorrow, when you can finally see the new 2019 Annual Catalogue, remember,

happy stamping, colouring & creating!!!
