Goodness me, blink and what the?

It's Monday again. 

I hope you all have had a fabulous weekend and a not too busy week ahead.  Today, and over the weekend I've been musing about a few things.  The old Oxford Pocket dictionary I keep by my computer desk says the meaning for 'muse' is to ponder, meditate upon.

I had this brilliant idea the other day for a blog post but didn't know where to slot it in to my regular posts.   Tomorrow the new Annual catalogue goes live and I've already a post scheduled for that. However, this 'musing' that I've done has been prompted by Stampin' Up!'s new catalogue along with a fabulous newsletter I received last week about, yes, you guessed it in colours, designer's colours,  colour trends.  Remember me talking about how Stampin' Up! works anything up to 2 years ahead of time? How Pantone® work with world renowned designers to create their colour palettes?   Oh boy, Stampin' Up! are so on trend, I nearly fell off my perch when I opened that newsletter.  To quote them:

Welcome to FF@F'o'clock'ish, it's well and truly out of what as far as timing goes but as people say, better late than never LOL

Today I unboxed my Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin kit.  I did get some sneak peaks of it at Onstage Auckland last month (April) but I had to hold some things back. Many of you may have seen so much online already and I just waited til I had my hands on the kit so I could share it with you.  This is the outside of the box, isn't it pretty!

This video was done earlier today and I still wasn't quite awake. I had to fight off two kitties to ensure nothing got knocked over or 'swatted/chewed/stolen' little rascals they can be, especially Mr Nibbles!  Look at him when I tried to open it yesterday morning! Nibbles by name, Nibbles by nature, be we loves 'im!

Have you fluffed out your Tutu today yet? LOL, figuratively speaking?  It's like 'putting ya big girl pants on' hey, getting on with it, 'adulting' as some say but  yeah, who doesn't love a tutu to lift spirits, admire beauty, colour, glitter and maybe have a laugh?  Here's my Tutu for today!

I've a different subject to talk about today and it's going back to matching colours, how colours are made, how they are 'created' for the human eye to see.  It's no secret I frequent  Pantone®'s website and get their newsletters. A recent newsletter that came had me totally hooked and fascinated in it's information and explanation.  Have you seen around different sites/places/publications RGB/sRGB and CMY/CMYK ever mentioned? Well I thought those of you who might be secretly as nerdy nerd nerd as I can be when it comes to reading about these things might like to read this article. The link will be at the bottom of all this.

Learning what makes technology so fascinating, how printers work, how publications are created, how colours are mixed and not mixed, what makes the human eye see colours differently from one person to the next.  It's all fascinating to me.  In another life I so would have been a designer of some kind. I'd loved to have been given the opportunity to be a graphic designer or even interior designer or someone who helps choose colours for coordination in wow just any field you could think of but particularly in the area of art and creativity. (Which yeah I know is limitless!)

Why am I talking about this?  It's because new colours and shades come out all the time and like any company when creating a new range, Stampin'Up!® can't keep every single colour and range in stock for ever. Life would be pretty dull and boring if things didn't constantly change, upgrade or be improved upon or varied somewhat.  So with that in mind, the above colour chart for the new 2019-2021 In Colours, take a look at this recent article from:

I hope you found that as fascinating as I did or it may have prompted you to realize that when new catalogues come out, every single product has to be reviewed, and carefully thought about going into the future.  Fashion changes, colour trends change, but they do have that six degrees of separation in that what was once old, is now new again and what was new is now old.  Oh my, that was 'deep' LOL

TuTu Tuesday, 16th April 2019!

Welcome back everyone, did you miss me? LOL

I've had a very busy couple of weeks during which I attended the OnStage Live International Stampin' Up Event in Auckland, New Zealand.  And what an event it was!  I've spent today unpacking and going through all the deliveries that came whilst I was away.  YES, my Product Purchase Premiere order arrived this morning too!



I've come home with loads of freebies, new ideas, samples, tons of inspiration, great memories, and many many gorgeous swaps from like minded Independent Stampin'Up! Demonstrators from around the globe.  Our Kiwi neighbours put out the biggest welcoming mat and great weather too!  To say being there in person was awesome aye is an understatement.  The opening Moari welcome was really heart warming to see. I hope you get to see some of it via youtube because oh my goodness, you could just feel it in your heart, it was so beautiful!  I think I actually may have captured some of it, we shall see if it's any good and I promise I will share it with you.

So many people received one of my swaps so I thought I would quickly share with you how I made it and what I used.  Believe it or not you nearly had to pick me up off the floor when I saw what was inside our welcome bags before the first session.  I couldn't believe it!  I chose to make a giant daisy paper clip book mark.  I used the stamp set Daisy Delight.  Oh wait til you see the new stamp set that compliments Daisy Delight, Daisy Lane.   Not only have they kept this stamp set and it's matching large Daisy punch, they have a medium daisy in the new Daisy Lane red rubber set along with a medium sized Daisy punch. On sale from 4th June 2019!!

FYI: the giant paper clips were purchased from Kmart here in Australia for $1.99 for a pack of 10 clips.

I stamped  out the large daisy 3 times them & punched them all out.  To adhere them together I've found the best thing to use is a hot glue gun.  You also hot glue, onto the back, a 1 1/4" punched out circle of what ever card stock you want to use up (scraps are good for this)  Next you put a big blob, about half the size of the punched out circle and sit the giant paper clip in it.  Note: Be mindful to glue the end that isn't where you slide it onto/into a page!   Add some more hot glue over the top of the embedded paper clip and place a 2nd punched out 1 1/4" circle punch over the top and gently press together. Don't press too much or you will squish the hot glue out the sides.   That's it, easy peasy lemon squeezy!   I have been making these or versions of this type of book mark for many years and it's amazing how many people tell me they are still using them. That makes my heart so happy to know! If you look closely at my last photo you will see the new Daisy Lane stamp set that I used to make this last sample yesterday after I'd unpacked everything.
