When you paint with bleach, you can hurry the process up a bit by drying the area with your heat tool. However, I've found leaving the painted item over night or from morning til later in the afternoon gives the bleach a good opportunity to bleach the card stock. Stampin Up's cardstock is coloured right the way through. Not all colours bleach as well as each other but you can see by this sample strip I did, the new In Colours plus Poppy Parade and Blackberry Bliss bleach amazingly!
Note: when using bleach, chose an aqua painter brush and keep it just for using bleach. I've put some washi tape on mine and know it's the only one to put bleach in. I tried once using a regular paint brush but it ate away the bristles. I've left bleach in an aqua painter brush for years and it's still working as good as new.
Here are some card fronts stamped with versamark then white heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I used ordinary house hold bleach, Coles no-frills brand and filled the barrel of my aqua painter brush 2/3's. You don't need a lot. Have a piece of old cloth or a tissue folded near by to blot excess. I only pained where the flowers and the stems are. Pretty neat effect!
Here's a card finished. I've used some of my hand dyed seam binding from yesterday too. Look how cute those buttons are too! Hope you find this little tip handy. And yes, don't use your jeans/dressing gown to wipe your bleach brush either, ask me how I know ;-) Don't forget to decorate the insides of your cards too, they look super spesh when done.
Aren't these tinted faceted buttons gorgeous! I had some of the clear ones a few years ago. Love that they brought these out in the new catalogue coz they do look very pretty.
til next time,
happy stamping, colouring and creating!
