How do I dye my ribbon??
G'day!
Many of you know I dye my own ribbons. It's not very often I buy coloured ribbon these days because there are sooooo many gorgeous colours in the Stampin Up range that I can have ribbon/seam binding to match any project if I have the re-inker.
Top right clockwise: Call Me Clover, Grapefruit Grove, Bluberry Bushel, Pineapple Crush and Lovely Lipstick, 2018-2020 In Colours!
I did a step by step tutorial a while back on my old blog but I thought now I have the equipment, I'd make a video to show you just how super easy it is to do. I've added Poppy Parade on the right hand side in this photo below to show you the difference in red from the Lovely Lipstick. Poppy Parade is more bright with an orange undertone. Lovely Lipstick leans more towards a pink tone.
WARNING: if you do not like getting ink stained, wear some latex/rubber gloves. For me, they don't make them small enough to I live with ink stained hands LOL. I don't mind, it shows people I've been working/creating ;-)
A list of Stampin Up products I used is at the bottom of this but note I also use rubbing alcohol which you can usually get from your local supermarket. Mine is called Isocol in the green bottle. FYI it's generic name is Isopropyl Alcohol.
To watch this video tutorial you will be taken to my Facebook business page. Unfortunately at this time, I can't embed this kind of video into my blog posts. I'm working on that but yes, a new screen will open when you click on this link below and will take you to see the video

EDITED: I have today got my Youtube channel updated and working so you can hopefully see this video here on my blog.
It has come to my attention that the above link may not work as it is within my Facebook page. I have also got it available to see through Dropbox. You don't need a password for it, it can be found at this link below:

Pop back later over the weekend to see another very handy technique I use when I make some cards that have these beautiful dyed ribbons on them!
Til next time,
happy stamping, colouring and creating!
