It's Tutu Tuesday time! 4th Dec, 2018

Hi everyone,

How's this for a super cute Christmas Tutu!!

What's it like at your place right now?  Are you up to your elbows with Christmas baking, shopping, decorating and then again just generally getting on with life?   I've been baking my popular gingerbread again. I have to laugh, the first few batches didn't even make it up to my father's place.  My son was not impressed last week but never fear, GinGin has bake more and is baking more as I type!   I had a special request from young Aiden to make some with 'Jacks' face on them.  That's a Jack'o'lantern.  Thankfully I have still go the wonderful silicone cookie press stamps Stampin Up brought out a few years ago.  One of my favourite things to get out any time of the year to stamp into cookies.

What to put them in though?  Check out these cute little mini pizza boxes I've decorated to put some gingerbread in.  I'm so glad Cookie Cutter Christmas is in the annual catalogue. It has to be one of my most used stamp sets lately.  Remember those little folded paper angels I made?  Well the faces of the angels came from Cookie Cutter Christmas didn't they!

Tutu Tuesday's Tutorial, 6 Nov, 2018

Hey there everyone,

I've a very cute little project for you today. It kind of has a tutu look to it too. 

I have to thank one of my fellow demonstrators, Ellen Budden for sharing this with our team last week.  I ran with it and added a little step to make the head attach a little easier than the original video Ellen shared (which was by a UK demonstrator, Gaynor Boyce)

One sheet of 6"x6" patterned paper (the 6x6 packs are great for these), scoring and gluing and a few matching scraps for the head and maybe a bit extra on the back like in one of my finished photos.  Easy as!  Let's get started........

Tutu Tuesday Tutorial, 30th Oct 2018

Welcome back to another Tutu Tuesday Tutorial. 

Today I'm revisiting the tutorial I did on 11th September 2018 for making gift bags. But today I'm going one step further & making Rosettes to decorate this kind of bag.

This rosette is fairly easy to make but looks so striking when you team it with matching papers, and glitter papers too!  A list of what I have used to make this is listed below.

So, let's have a look...

Firstly, cut one sheet of 6x6" DSP into 2" strips (you will get three and they are the perfect size and length)  Decide which side you want to be the main side. You may need to take into account stripes when cutting.  Next, using a scoreboard, score each strip at 1/4" intervals then join the three pieces together with tear & tape. Fold in fan folds so you end up with the full joined 3 strips looking like the 3rd photo below.







Next, you will need fast drying glue or a hot glue gun. I suggest the hot glue gun because you may end up having to hold  the rosette down whilst the centre circle dries onto the folded rosette.





Glue some punched out circles or coordinating paper to glue front and back.  This will hold the rosette nice and flat, ready for decorating!



I've used some of the gorgeous Glimmer Paper on page 29 of the current Holiday Catalogue. I've cut it out using my Big Shot & the Beautiful Layers Thinlits dies.



Using your choice of stamps and images, decorate the front and use some nice ribbon on the back to make a hanger as in this photo below.  I have used the Signs Of Santa photopolymer stamp set, it's so darn cute!  I've water coloured that little elf with water colour pencils.





And using papers from the Santa's Workshop DSP, I've created a really pretty gift bag & attached a rosette to the front of it too.

Remember, all products are available until 2nd January 2019 or until stocks last.  Don't forget, you can make this gift bag out of any 12x12" double sided patterned papers for any time of the year!  So, get cracking and use up all those gorgeous papers you've been 'hoarding' because before you know it a whole new range will be coming!
