Monday Musing, 23rd September 2019!

MondayMusingsJune2019A

Well if I blinked I'd have missed the last week or so!  It went by so fast that I'm wondering if it really did all happen LOL.

I'm feeling a little worse for wear though so I am having a very quiet Monday.  I've been trying to get out of my creative 'slump' but all I seem to be doing is sorting, filing, putting things away and culling! Not just crafting things either, all around the house!   I start looking for something and get sidetracked by something else and the next thing you know I'm culling again.  Sigh sigh sigh!  Doesn't help I forgot to take a hat to Melbourne last week and lupus/fybro myalgia are being a bit bothersome!

The Herbster and I have had a fabulous time though we are both a bit tired and sorry for ourselves.  Too funny, we were up at 4am to go to Melbourne last week as my Thoughts on Thursday post explained. But I also had to be up with him at 4.30am on Friday.

Here's my SailorMan as he's been affectionately known as for the 30yrs we've known each other, yes 30yrs as of a couple of days ago!  This is in his refurbished workshop up the back yard where he creates those huge model ships. Doesn't do anything by halves does he? No model boats under 12ft long.  That finished one just under the bench, the Yamato! It's 14ft long and took 8 1/2 years to create right from the hull up!  You can see some of his pieces he's working on currently of the Kirishima.  Yes he's a world war two history buff!

Guess what?  Neither of us heard our alarms!!  5.30am and the Herbster's running down the hallway going sh*t, quick get the kitty meds and lets wrap that kitty up like a burrito and get it into him, I'm going to have to drive to work!!!  When he's lecturing/teaching, he starts at 7am sharp in the lecture/simulator rooms on the navy base.  Once a sailor always a sailor, must be on time!!!! I just hope he didn't speed through the back streets of Surry Hills and Paddington on his way to Randwick barracks, LOL, he's done that before, oops!

So why did we have to be up that early again?   This little fellow here, yup the 'all kinds of speshul' Mr Nibbles the Ragdoll was going in on Friday to have his yearly complete clipping (and vet check, vax and claw clipping too). He has to be sedated because he's terrified being at the Vets.  I was a tad worried because last week was quite horrible weather wise. When in Melbourne we baked, when in Sydney we were freezing.   Nibbles didn't mind, he has been hiding himself under any throw blanket or bed doona he can find LOL.  He went in a Ragdoll, came home a temporary Siamese ROFL.

He's very active again and quite vocal. Plus I feel looks rather handsome too! Miss Pip doesn't recognize him and has been hissing at him ever since. My the tables have turned. Nibbles the bully has become the bullied and Miss Pip is being the bully.  Ah cats, they are so unique and funny and so hard to work out some days but we love them and I think they love us and each other. They have a funny way of showing it though sometimes ;-)

Anywhooo that's all for this Monday, I do have to get dressed and go up to the shops for some fresh fruit & veggies.  I hope you all have a great week no matter where you are or what you are doing!

til next time, remember,

happy stamping, colouring & creating!

Crikey, where did the last week go, and the weekend for that matter!  It's been a busy time, traveling up to the central coast, visiting long time friends I've not seen in a while, and generally trying to keep culling things from our little 'Hovel'.  Oh yes, and finishing and delivering my son's wedding invitations.  Yes, I will share them with you but not for another month or so!  My birthday was amongst all this so a little bit of celebreating too!  Thank you everyone for you beautiful wishes. Man I still recon they made a boobooh on my birth certificate, 61? How did that happen, LOL!

I'm so sorry there was no Fabulous Friday's @ Five'o'clock post, the weekend did get away from me. We were at church in the morning yesterday then straight to the SCG yesterday afterwards, for the Swans vs Geelong game.  Needless to say, the Swans lost, AGAIN!  LOL, I did find it rather humorous that we played Geelong, given that Geelong is near where we are relocating to!  Yes, the Herbster and I did make it up onto the giant score board again too, check us out, too funny! I took the photo just before we went into the grounds as it was nice and warm and sunny out the front on Driver Avenue.

And there we are up on the top left hand side LOL, it's fun to see if we make it up there, so that's 5 times this season, on a roll! ☺ .   Michelle, that lipstick you gave me for my birthday is gorgeous and has some good staying power too.  Who doesn't love a good red lipstick!!!!

I am sharing with you a really cute card I made for my bestie's birthday.  It's the main reason I really didn't hurry to get it online on Friday because it will only be getting delivered today.  Many happy returns dear Maggie, I'm so glad you've had a lovely extended long weekend.  Not much longer now and we'll be down there to paartaaaay when ever we want!!

I finally christened this oh so cute Over the Moon stamp set, moooooo!  Isn't it adorable! I've also used patterned paper run through the Tufted 3d embossing folder, love that folder, it's so pretty!

MondayMusingsJune2019A

Yup, here we are again at the start of a new week. My goodness, the time is flying along, it's 1st July today, many happy returns to my niece, JaimeeLee too!  See you on Sunday. Hope you are having a great time in Fiji honey.

It's, still as hubby's old navy speak goes, "All hands to action stations" here at the Hovel. Day two of plastering and sanding.  I've two very unhappy kitties who got put out in their enclosure just after 7am. Poor babies, it was 5 degrees celcius. I put out the small cat carrier as well so both of them have something to hide/snuggle in without squabbling. Mr Nibbles has been vocal, he'll have kitty laryngitis by the end of the day and they've another day tomorrow out there too.  I got some cute photos LOL, and a little video clip. Check out the racket I could hear once the workmen had taken a break for lunch....

I went and sat out there with the kitties whilst I had my lunch and gave them some treats, they liked that though Pip wanted my penne pasta which is not kitty food and I wasn't about to share LOL. It was too cold to stay out there for long, the sun had moved and the Jacaranda is brilliant green right now, shading most of the whole backyard.

Look at those little faces!  Ah it'll do them good, gives me a chance to get some much needed shuffling of stuff and culling without them jumping into boxes or into cupboards. I've shut one or the other in a cupboard a few times before now and not known til their pitiful cries could be heard, oops!

We had a busy weekend. Of course there was a Sydney Swans' game on at the SCG and brrr it was soooo cold. Coldest game I think I've been to but it was a great game.  The Herbster & I made it up on to the big score board again with our hashtag photo. We were both having a bit of a silly moment (all right, we have lots of those LOL)

But look, there we are, up on the big screen he he he. Is it the 3rd or 4th time this season, it's at least a hat trick I tells ya!

That's all for this Monday, the 1st of July.

Monday Musing...10/June/2019

mondaymusings1ajpg

It's a long weekend here in Sydney, Australia and the Herbster and I have been making the most of it.  We took time out of our house/shed repairs yesterday to go watch the Sydney Swans vs West Coast Eagles at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground)  OMGoodness what a game. It has to have been one of the most exciting games we've been to in a long time and we've been Swans members with the same amazing seats for the last 17yrs!  There was a lot going on at half time so we didn't see ourselves up on the big score board this time but here's our photo from Instagram (I'm #wirgie101) , it was still sunny, hence my new specs being a little dark...

Here's some of the shots from previous games that have made it up onto the scoreboard, it's fun using that hashtag and see yourselves up there.... #goSwans!

This is the great view we get from our seats, the players come out of the race just to the left of us, those banners are huge!  We are 5 rows from the boundary line, half way between both goal posts, the best view ever and we are blessed with these seats!

They also played this great song by Paul Kelly & Dan Sultan in honor of Adam Goodes. Finally after all these years, the AFL have apologized to Adam for the disgraceful way he was treated during that infamous final quarter game which saw a very ugly side to some fans. We were at that game and many afterwards and it was heart breaking to witness poor Adam's treatment!  We got behind Adam and we supported our best number 37 ever!TributSongTheFinalQuarter1

Here is a link to a news item that has recently appeared. A movie has been made about this too, we are looking forward to seeing it!  https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-06-07/afl-apologises-unreservedly-for-failures-over-adam-goodes-racism/11191880

And here is another.  Adam deserved that Australian of the year award and he deserves all the respect in the world! https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/play-the-final-quarter-in-adam-goodess-boots/news-story/fe218fcf51838f13688436337e6dabc1

Racism is disgusting, we are all human beings, we are all made of the same stuff on the inside.  In this day and age of multi media pushed into our faces, it's good to have something like this to remind us that we are all on this planet together, we are all 'brothers & sisters', we are all the same, putting our pants on one leg at a time.  No one should have been put through what Adam was put through. Sitting amongst that Collingwood game was quite frightening and to be honest, it's rare I got to any Sydney vs Collingwood games these days. (They've been on week nights so that's made it hard to get to them anyway) but I dislike with a passion that some fans can be so darn disgusting.

Okay, I've said my 'musings' for today.  Time to go do some creating and also see what else I can do to help the Herbster.  All hail NRMA insurance, we are getting a whole new roof on all of our house, our garage and the awnings up the back off the garage, new ceiling and electrical wiring/repairs to the back of the house and new lighting as well.  A lot more damage was done to our place than we knew about during those storms earlier this year. Remember those storms earlier this year and our house being flooded ?  Yeah, things are looking up at Hampson's Hovel, to the roof LOL.

byee for now and remember,

happy stamping, colouring & creating!

Thursday Thoughts, 2/5/2019

ThursdaysThoughtsMar2019a

Last Saturday night we were at the Sydney Swans vs GWS game at the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground for the unaware). It was also the weekend of ANZAC day.  ANZAC day is 25th April every year and if fell on a Thursday this year, 2019.  We watched the MCG game on TV and I can only imagine the atmosphere as we saw all the lights off and the eternal flame being carried by a soldier on horseback around the the MCG. (Melbourne Cricket Ground). Many people held up torches or the like, it was beautiful.

I came across this clip I recorded at the SCG, ah the memories again of many ANZAC day matches. We've been Swans members with the same seats since 2003/4. This is the first time I've had a powerful enough mobile phone camera to capture this. I didn't want to take video during the last post & the minute's silence but this was amazing at the start! You have to be there to feel the atmosphere, it's so different to being in front of the tv watching. You could have heard a pin drop during the last post, revallry(?) and the minute's silence, then it was on with the roar of the crowds!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu0U-z0qBGw

You can see just how close our seats are to the boundary line and where we sit in comparison to both goal posts.  People were still pouring in during this.  It was a great atmosphere.  So Swans lost again but yeah, you can't always make the top 8 every year.

And check this out, no baseball styled cap for me. We must have collected over a 100 Swans supporter's caps over the years. Many we've given away.  I really want a bucket styled hat, I live in hope that they bring those back in the Swans Shop!  :-)

Til next time, remember,

happy stamping colouring & creating!

And live life in the Red & White LOL
