Welcome back to another Tutu Tuesday Tutorial. Hmmm tutus, they always bring out the fun and big (or not so big ;-) ) kid in me!
This week I'm sharing with you a rather easy and fun little gift you can make that will slip inside an envelope. Pop it in with a Christmas or greeting card and you've sent a handy gift your family and/or friends can see all year 'round! Let's get cracking....
This is a step by step tutorial, easy to view photos with dimensions listed below the photos.
Step One: Score along the long edge across the shorter width of A4 card stock at 9cm, 18cm, 22.5cm and 27cm. DO NOT cut off the excess.
Step Two: Cut the A4 scored card stock in half giving you two pieces at 10.5cm wide & 29.7cm long. Fold and burnish with a bone folder at all the score lines as per the photo. You will have one fold outwards, the rest inwards as per this photo.... This gives you 2 bases to place your calendars on. Handy, one sheet of A4 card stock makes 2 bases!

You can either use Liquid multipurpose glue or double side tape. I made my first one with the glue, the 2nd with the tape. It's much quicker and less messy with the double side tape!
Here's a tip on using double side tape, fold back tabs as per photo and pull out whilst holding the piece together, makes it much easier to line up with just a little bit of the sticky then pulling out the rest of the backing paper. The photos should be self explanatory...
Next use your left over scraps of patterned paper. I've cut my pieces approximately 9cm x 8cm. You will adhere the patterned paper first. This is where, if you want to step it up a bit you can ink/paint the edges of your patterned paper first before sticking them down.
Next adhere your little calendars to the bottom centre of your stand. Stamp the year on white card stock (or matching if you want but white really makes the year stand out). Leave room enough to be able to use your punch of choice or, as I've used, the smallest from the stitched oval framelits die set. I got about 16 cut out of an A5 sized piece. You need room so that the oval stitching cuts out nicely.
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you found these step by steps easy to follow. This is a fabulous way to use up scraps of patterned papers that you might be holding on to because they are so pretty you don't want to waste them.
NOTE: Do you see those tiny weeny butterflies I've used? Well, come 3rd January 2019 you will be able to purchase an amazing set of Thinlits dies that include these gorgeous tiny creatures. Stay tuned for more creations using other dies from that set. There are 20, yes I said TWENTY dies in the set and they are sooooooooo beautiful!
'til next time,
happy stamping, colouring & creating!
